Lessons

Dressage is a classical method of riding in which the rider's seat and legs are the means of communication with the horse. This forms a partnership of balanced rider, balanced horse. It eliminates pulling on the horse's mouth. Correct muscles are developed as is the willingness of the horse to work. When done correctly, the endeavor looks effortless. Lessons are conducted slowly and methodically to confirm that each skill is mastered before moving on to the next skill.

The basics are the foundation for all future work; they must be correct in order for future work to be correct. Nothing about riding is more important. Developing a deep seat with correct aids and correct timing takes the time that it takes; it cannot be hurried.

Lessons at GTG are taught with positive reinforcement, using visual graphics and video filming on experienced horses. Many lessons are spent on the lunge line, developing feel, timing and core. All lessons are given on an individual basis at a moderate price. Students from GTG regularly place in the top ribbons with judges' comments stating that the riders are correct.
